ARASA (AIDS and Rights Aliance of Southern Africa) is a partnership of 14 civil society orginizations. ARASA is a regional organization that promotes human rights in the context of HIV/AIDS. It's a non profit organization. It's main focus is to raise awareness to everyone around not only the world but different parts of Africa as well. It was founded in 2003. ARASA has two programs. One of which is a "training workshop." One workshop is to raise awareness and knowledge about HIV/AIDS, and the other is to train workers to be the most knowledgable about HIV/AIDS in the region. The second program is to train people in realizing what changes or improvisions are needed to make HIV/AIDS patients or victims live a longer life. This program will also provide technical assistence to those treating AIDS patients. ARASA is big on helping the HIV/AIDS victims with new medicine and also raising awareness around the world and their own country about their problem. This organization has helped people understand the effects that AIDS has on Africa. Not only the people, but the country as a whole.
